A person either born and brought up in Pune or has adopted Puneri (small-town) way of thinking.A Punekar is generally smart and witty. They are adept in academics, art and music. Most Punekars are frightened chicken-hearted people with low moral and ethical IQ. An average Punekar is born and brought up in middle and lower-middle class families, the important factor that makes them what they are. They are generally job doers. Most Punekars are rightists. Common attributes of a Punekar are: intelligent, over-smart, greedy, intolerant, insensitive, shallow and self-centered. Punekars are over-expressive and spend time discussing and contemplating on frivolous issues like Modi, food, Marathi asmita, Marathi movies, Marathi plays, Ganapati, Dahi-handi, Misal etc.
Mandar is a typical Punekar.
